Training
Tavistock Relationships developed Couple Therapy for Depression out of the NICE Guidelines for treating depression through couple therapy where there was also relationship distress. Its work forms the national curriculum and training materials published by the Department of Health.
Tavistock Relationships is the original accredited training provider for the five-day CPD top-up for qualified counsellors and therapists to enable them to work in NHS IAPT services as properly accredited couple therapy for depression practitioners.
Attendees’ feedback from our last Couple Therapy for Depression Practitioner training in London:
Nikki from IAPT in Hertfordshire:
I’m CBT trained and found the CTFD training a different and positive experience, I miss doing couples work and hope to do more after this training, which I am going to recommend to my colleagues the moment I get back.
Nadu Menon from Wandsworth Mind:
“This was a phenomenal training and an experience that has opened my eyes to the value of supporting couples within our service – I can’t wait to do more work in this area now. When you consider the funding available I think all IAPT services should be looking to benefit by giving as many of their staff as they can the skills to help couples.”
